My husband and I came here tonight to celebrate our wedding anniversary and were blown away with the experience as a whole. The staff were so welcoming and kind (shoutout to Alex!), the drinks were creative/delicious, the cheesecake was delicious and the vibe was so cool. We will definitely be returning with friends very soon and would highly recommend a visit the next time you’re looking for a cool bar experience.

Okay so there are a lot of places claiming to be a Speak Easy these days, but most are very well advertised and easy to find which was not the case for speak easy's. Shelby really goes back to the original speak easy by having NO signage on the outside of the building, or on the inside for that matter. Even pulling up the details on the place did really stop us from questioning if we were at the right spot or not. Thankfully with a hesitant "is that the correct blue door" we were asked if we had a reservation and was taken in. Drinks were incredible, but as I had to drive a short distance to our dinner spot for the evening, I only had 2 in the 1.5 hours we were there. That's okay though, just gives us a reason to go back. We decided to have the French Onion dip so we weren't drinking on empty stomachs and it was very good, clearly fresh made and not something from a tub and dressed up. Out server was incredible, giving a nice detailed description of offerings not on the menu, but more like specials for the weekend. Be sure to check it out if visiting Detroit.

Can't provide a rating on the food, since we only went for drinks, but the experience was great. Really cool atmosphere, delicious craft cocktails. I had the "Endless Summer," which was fresh with some sweetness to the lemon foam. Highly recommend. Great little spot for an intimate night, or as a first stop in your night to set the vibe. Service was top notch.

My wife and I absolutely love this place! The ambiance is incredible and old safe that they've turned into an incredible cocktail bar! The drinks were very creative and flavorful and I love on the menu they show you a photo of how each on will look. They do have limited app/dessert items but they are all really tasty and have good flavor. The service was prompt and very helpful. Will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone who has not gone yet.

What a fun and unique place for a drink. We stopped here after dinner to grab a cocktail and check it out. Inside an old bank vault, it was cozy and really cool. The atmosphere is quiet, which I loved, dark and just really relaxed. The cocktail list had some really inventive things on it, so I definitely want to go back so I can try a few more that caught my eye. We didn't eat here, so I can't speak on behalf of their food, but everything sounded good. Next time, I think we'll start here for a bite and a drink to begin our night. Definitely check it out, and make a reservation if you can because it fills up quickly. Just be sure to check in at the Down Under counter so they can seat you.

We went here for my husbands birthday. We loved the vibe, the drinks were amazing! Our server was so sweet, went above and beyond! She made it a great experience. I don’t remember her name, pretty with long hair and I had found hr phone in the bathroom that night. Please tell her she gave the best service from all of us stops in Detroit this weekend!

The staff was amazing! The cocktails were so delicious and creative. We asked the bartender if they could make us a cocktail with gin, they asked about our flavor profile choices and made one of the best gin cocktails I’ve ever had. Had a wonderful evening at Shelby.
